The Twiggs County Board of Commissioners (BOC) and County Administrator are seeking applicants for the position of Finance Director.  Resumes will be accepted as follows:

This position performs the following essential county roles:

Accounting:  Processing and Chart of Accounts postings of vendor payables.  Reconciliation of multiple funds via electronic accounting software.  Handling of all tax matters including W2s, 1099s, and 941s.  Collaboration with internal/external auditors in the preparation of annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Finance:  Budget compilation, projections, and tracking for revenue/expense funds.  Monthly reporting of departmental run rates for BOC and public review.

The Finance Director is a team member that supports the BOC and County Administrator.  Various duties, such as phone call management assistance, greeting citizens, and document notarization are required to maintain a high level of office productivity.

A bachelor’s degree is required.  Advance degree, a plus.  Study areas of Accounting, Business administration or Public administration are preferred.  Proficiency with electronic accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite is necessary.  Governmental experience in a similar role is highly desirable.  Candidates must agree to financial and criminal background screening as well as drug testing.
